ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we describe the individual journeys of key participants in Belize in their own words, and from the lenses of their lived experiences in relation to this work. The voices and stories included below are those of Cecilia, Adisa, Sloane, and Grace. Cecelia, the first principal with whom we worked, was an inspiration for both Belize Education Project and for leveraging the participatory action research approach. Adisa, another principal, sought out the Belize Education Project for her school and was a key player for our ongoing efforts at continuous improvement. As an Infant I teacher, Sloane has become an instructional leader in his school. Finally, Grace, an Infant II teacher, continues to be an advocate and an agent of change at her school.
