ABSTRACT

Much has been written about diversity in higher education and about equality of opportunity. This is the story of a life which explores these themes. The process is not always comfortable, but almost inevitably that’s how it has to be, to allow changes of this magnitude to occur. The book is highly personal but also offers a critique of psychology from within and without. It is also a reflection on social class in the United Kingdom and how it affects perception and constrains opportunity. To everyone’s ultimate cost.
