ABSTRACT

Graduating as an early childhood educator means that you are qualified to become a member of a workforce that is unique and diverse. In addition, you have a unique set of skills and knowledge that is valued by many in different but related employment contexts. The skills, knowledge and attributes required to manage groups of children, and educate and care for them while sustaining communication and relationships with their families and communities are all transferable, and highly valuable to others. It is not every person who can deal with a wide range of people on a daily basis, within the contexts of genuine and caring relationships rather than simply service. Employability is a lifelong issue, and nobody is perfectly employable.
