ABSTRACT

This chapter explains a reader to find information about the demands of different prac settings, details of the roles and responsibilities of the pre-service teacher, the supervising teacher and the university mentor, advice about how to make the most of feedback and suggestions for making a good impression. Rhiannon has had two previous pracs—one in kindergarten and one in lower primary. This one-in child care-should be a breeze. How hard can it be? She anticipated that this prac would involve mucking around with babies and children all day, and hopefully be pretty cruisy-without the after-school staff meetings, standardised testing ‘palaver’, not to mention those ‘older children’.
