ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book reviews climate, culture, structure, approach to staffing, communication and decision making best supports learning program innovation, enhancement and delivery. It discusses a key tool, characteristic of the 'learning organisation' which can be used to continuously enhance workplace milieu, is workplace action research. The book explores the external context (D) in which educational services must operate is continuously changing, it is essential to look not just within the organisation for change ideas but outwards and forwards. It emphasizes, there are two main types of change which educators must be deft at handling: those to do with learning programs and those associated with the organisational milieu or environment in which these learning programs must operate.
