ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the authors want to take some time to walk through a process of reflection in everyday community practice, to explore what processes of renewal, ending and celebration might be like from the inside out. Taking stock through reflection also provides breathing space in everyday community practice. It can be an opportunity to slow the rhythm of practice or to re-establish rhythm when the frenetic pace of tasks and demands has disrupted readers' patterns of work. Being involved in a learning or practice community is another way to get involved in collective reflection. Readers' learning community might be a network they or others have set up to provide regular support for everyday community practitioners, or it may be the group of people with whom they are working on something. As with one-on-one reflective practice, establishing intentional, trusting and clear relationships with those participating in collective reflection is essential.
