ABSTRACT

Proactive teachers don’t wait for poor behavior to occur before developing a plan of action. The goal of student compliance or obedience is to provide psychological safety, to protect children from performing behaviour that they would regret later, and to allow individuals to build on their positive skills. The purpose of a classroom discipline plan is to avoid the need for teacher to make hasty, ill-considered or emotionally charged responses to students’ disruptions, resulting in inconsistent or arbitrary reactions. When students continually disrupt, move in close to them physically and remind them of the corrective actions that they have received so far and what will be the consequence if they continue to disrupt, expressing teacher's concern that teacher want to protect them from that. No teacher can work successfully with each and every student; sometimes, support from the school administration is necessary.
