ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses the achievements and impressions left by the successors of G. S. Bajpai on Indian foreign affairs. Diplomats such as N. R. Pillai, Subimal Dutt and K.P.S. Menon laid the foundations of foreign relations with Soviet Russia and China. This chapter provides details of the internal operations of the MEA and an analysis of the policies followed in the decades following Indian independence.
