ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses the struggle for equal franchise and economic control by Indians in East Africa with the colonial settlers and the Colonial Office and the DEHL’s involvement in the conflict. It details the political protests, public outcry, legislations and negotiations between the DEHL and the colonial administration which took place in the early 1900s.
