ABSTRACT
Chapter 3 introduces Virgil's Aeneid as a story about migration. The plot of this twelve-part epic is reviewed. The historical context for The Aeneid shows Virgil's intent of linking Rome to Troy. Academic perspectives on The Aeneid are discussed. The archetypal elements in The Aeneid reveal the story's relevance for other migration experiences. These include coping with differences, tribalism, and intergroup conflicts.
