ABSTRACT
After the institution critique from the first chapter, and redefinition of close reading, review, and history from the second, this chapter offers the last significant element—a discussion of supportive practices and methodology—for the epistemology appropriate for literary studies. It shows why literary studies is fragmented, because of its fragmented peer review, and how—by changing the way we do peer review—it can be consolidated and developed into an interdisciplinary discipline.
