ABSTRACT

This chapter proposes a new model of woman: “countercurrent, strange, dangerous, exaggerated, difficult to place. And revolutionary.” The story of Moana Pozzi – an Italian porn star – is that of a woman’s journey which does not pretend to be a collective example, “but that shifts the margins of what is possible for all other women.” This passage from the book Morgana by Michela Murgia e Chiara Tagliaferri reiterates the fact that every time society tries to define or redefine the boundaries of feminine freedom, a subversive voice will emerge to challenge and push that boundary. The unapologetic language used in this passage, in its fluent clarity and color, evokes a space in life and in writing where one has the luxury of being more reckless than wise, more impetuous than measured, free to choose a life outside the box.
