ABSTRACT

All chapters in the Reader will present a combination of in-class and at-home activities that are designed to maximize all language proficiency skills: reading comprehension, vocabulary acquisition and expansion, mastery of key grammatical functions, development of intercultural competency and discussion, composition skills, and the ability to carry out further research on individual topics through task-based activities. There may be some variations within each section, in light of the progressive difficulty of each chapter, but the essential framework of each instructional unit will repeat throughout the book.
