ABSTRACT
Mr. Tony Vincent is a 29-year-old African American man in his fifth year of teaching eighth grade Social Studies at a suburban middle school. The only middle school in the district serves 450 diverse sixth to eighth graders. Mr. Vincent created a course, “Embracing Diversities: Collaborating to Learn to Collaborate,” which is offered to eighth graders in each of the four quarters of the year.
