ABSTRACT

Summary: As life under lockdown settles, the usual business of politics seems to be overtaken by a localized, narrow, and domestic sense of political interests anchored to the apolitical fact of Covid-19. Starting with this observation, this chapter offers glimpses of the routine, trivial, and farcical political performances that took place. Motivational actions played a forgettable part at the time. A great burgeoning of conspiracy theories was a notable if predictable feature at this juncture. The reactions of anti-vaccination conspiracy theorists, whose convictions might be expected to have taken a hit, are outlined.
