ABSTRACT

This chapter examines how elderly sexual abuse can be prevented as well as what can be done to improve their investigation. The chapter begins by a review of what has been suggested over the years to prevent elderly sexual abuse in residential care settings. Then the chapter adopts a situational crime prevention approach to suggest measures to prevent elderly sexual abuse committed on victims in the community. Finally, the chapter ends with an application of various findings of the book to the criminal investigation of elderly sexual abuse.
