ABSTRACT

Contracting States are invited to keep International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) currently informed of any differences which may subsequently occur, of withdrawal of any differences previously notified. Attention is drawn to ICAO Council Resolution of 13 April 1948 on the desirability of using in national regulations the precise language of the ICAO Standards of regulatory character, and also of indicating departures from Standards, including additional regulations important for safety or regularity of air navigation. This chapter deals with the specifications for contents and make-up of personnel licences, such as detail, material, colour and language. It sets out Standards and Recommended Practices to be applied in carrying out medical assessments covering physical, mental, visual and hearing requirements for the Classes 1, 2 and 3 medical assessments. The International Standards Organisation is the worldwide federation of national standards institutes which provides recommendations for the use of International System of Units and certain other units.
