ABSTRACT

This chapter provides an overview of the concepts discussed in part 2 of this book. The part deals specifically with safe operating procedures including the International Civil Aviation Organization 11-point safety guide for agricultural operations. It deals with the responsibilities of States; the introductory note refers to an example of State regulations contained in Attachment B. The part goes on to deal with specific regulatory practices concerning: Aerodromes, Certification of operations, Training and licensing of personnel, Flight time limitations, Attachment B sets out suggested regulations concerning approval of agricultural operators and pilots. For an example of domestic law Regulations on aerial application, which deals with the requirements for an aerial application certificate, the procedures for its issue and the provision of an aerial application manual.
