ABSTRACT
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems are a suite of integrated business applications, which have grown to include most major functions such as accounting, manufacturing, supply chain and logistics, operations, human resources, customer relationships management, etc. ERP software also increased the recognition of the need for better planning and integration, which resulted in the creation of advanced planning and scheduling software in the functional areas of manufacturing, operations, and supply chain and logistics. The initial impact of the Internet on the supply chain involved communications such as email and tracking and tracing shipments. Today, the impact of the Web on the supply chain has grown exponentially and can be seen in six major areas: Simply put, e-commerce is the buying and selling of goods on the Internet. Businesses with an e-commerce model typically use an e-commerce store and/or an e-commerce platform to perform online marketing and sales activities and to manage logistics and fulfillment.
