ABSTRACT

The supply chain operates with a variety of strategic, tactical, and operational systems, such as network optimization, demand forecasting, inventory management, warehouse, transportation, and reverse logistics management systems, which must be integrated on the back end for efficient supply chain management. Areas where technology can help make this happen are: Traditional omni-channel refers to the blending of supply chain channels to allow customers to shop from any channel seamlessly, requiring supply chains to integrate storefronts, distribution centers, and online ordering processes into a single platform. To recap, the benefits of omni-channel 2.0 include: Not pursuing an omni-channel 2.0 strategy using enabling technology risks losing competitive advantage, higher overhead, and higher employee turnover rates.
