ABSTRACT

Very few organisations can operate effectively these days without digital technology; the ability to interact with customers, suppliers and other stakeholder electronically is vital. While electronic interactions bring enormous benefits, they also bring susceptibility to cyber threats, making cyber risk an important strategic risk.

Through recent examples, the chapter explores some of the impacts of cyber risk and why firms find it so difficult to manage. The chapter applies the risk management process and also the risk culture model to the case of cyber risk.
