ABSTRACT

The conversations we have had with civil society actors in the course of this research have drawn our attention to the extent of disillusionment that exists in relation to the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda. Sustaining hope that the transformative idea(l)s of the agenda will be realised is a form of emotional labour that the agenda relies upon. We draw out here the ways in which this labour manifests and can be made visible using the theoretical framework we develop in this work.
