Simio provides a number of facilities in the software package to analyse and display performance measures. Data can also be exported if required for analysis using Excel and other software. We will outline procedures for measuring performance for a terminating and non-terminating simulation. Simio can be used to analyse the double-queue bank clerk simulation constructed in chapter 7B. However, before the analysis can begin, we need to ensure that the simulation is a true terminating system. At present, the simulation starts from empty and then customers arrive at the bank with a runtime specified of 480 minutes. To be a true terminating simulation, the simulation must reach its starting condition (i.e. empty system) at the end of its run. To achieve this, the simulation must stop receiving new customers after a certain time period and then service any remaining customers in the system.
