ABSTRACT

One of the things I love about conversations is the unexpected twists and turns that get taken when we remain curious, open and courageous. I am in conversation with Pauline Scott (managing director and founder of Lullaby Lane Nurseries) and Laura Devennie (corporate director) from TIGERS Ltd in Glasgow. When TIGERS was first founded, it would have described itself as a training provider and employment broker. At the same time, at TIGERS, we were doing quite a big piece of work on why our young people were not retaining their opportunities for learning and progression to an apprenticeship. We had our team at TIGERS undertake their first introduction to attachment theory and early brain development, which felt quite scary for me because we had men who were 30 years in construction sector watching videos of 8-week-old babies. We can see the ripple effect of work and we are hearing stories of change in our team, young people, children and families.
