ABSTRACT

This chapter deals with conversation of Lisa with Fiona Holiday, a play and creative arts therapist. Play therapy strikes as one of the more misunderstood professions and interventions to develop a conversation that not only sought to understand it better but could support people in how they think about play. Through the relationship, and the play, children can give attention to whatever is important for them and explore it, on conscious and unconscious levels. Lisa works with charitable organizations to provide play therapy in the local community and offer therapeutic support to families and children who are living with medical conditions. It explains how our vagus nerve is constantly working to help us cope with the stress of not feeling safe. When we begin to feel unsafe, turning to our social engagement system is important in helping our system to calm down.
