ABSTRACT

In this new chapter, we present various forms and examples of resistance against crimes of the powerful. Beginning with a discussion of protests and social movements—from a few to hundreds of thousands of citizens—in various milieus around the world in response to different aspects of crimes of the powerful, we discuss how resistance to crimes of the powerful takes many forms and explore art as one means of resistance. We then discuss the role of nonprofit organizations and whistleblowers in resisting crimes of the powerful.
