ABSTRACT

A press release is typically topped with a bold headline and a newsy-looking introduction. If the anniversary is being marked in some way, you might at least get a short news piece. Even if you are recording, you should still make notes as you go along, marking what seem to you the best or more newsworthy sections, with the time that they occur either the time on the clock or the time from the beginning of the speech. Something as simple as the anniversary of a big story might be a good enough reason to return to it and see what has happened over the subsequent 12 months. When there is not much news around, revisiting and updating previous stories is a very good way of generating some - and audiences like stories being followed through, and being told how they are resolved.
