ABSTRACT

Under the dual influences of institution and market relations between farmers and the soil and countryside are undergoing profound changes. he administrative and economic aspects of the relationship between the villagers and the county are intricately related. In highly fluid society, the relationship between the villagers and the county has changed from a highly integrated one that combines economic, administrative, and social ties to one where the three types of ties are separate, overlapped, or partially detached. Under the dual influences of institution and market, rural society is going through a rapid yet profound transformation. Regarding the relationship between villagers and the county, this study approaches the relationship from the economic, administrative, and social aspects. Before the villagers embarked on the migration, in a stable rural society, the county was the administrative, economic, and social center of the villagers' life. The transformation is achieved under the dual influences of institution and market, and through the interaction of individual and society.
