ABSTRACT
The book begins with an intuitively compelling picture of our freedom: the idea that our choices take place in the context of a (metaphorical) “garden of forking paths.” The notion of fatalism encapsulates a set of concerns that cause us to wonder whether this picture is an accurate representation of reality.
