ABSTRACT

This chapter is the third case study of politically motivated actors’ groups and attack methods. The main focus is on cyber activism and hacktivism operating outside the state sphere conducting attacks against public and private entities. Some protest forms are protected by international human rights, while others fall under national cybercrime legislation scope. This chapter will include motivation, the actors, and the means and method in a strategic and legal context. This chapter will focus on new groups and their different legal and illegal attack forms. Actions and attacks such as the US Tusla Rally, Dallas Police Department, and BlueLeaks, are included in the discussions.
