ABSTRACT
This chapter describes how in our zeal to teach our members to shift out of personalizing into seeing oneself in context, we discovered that we had been personalizing “personalizing.” This chapter recaps our large group experience that led us to this epiphany. This realization in turn led us to rethink how we had been applying our theory and ultimately to some new developments in our theory. These are elucidated and illustrated, along with the process and struggle we went through in arriving at our new understandings.
