Visitor satisfaction can be determined through observation and noting what activities are popular. The economic impact of the event will be of interest to the community. This would include the increase in sales of local merchants. The most important physical tasks are cleaning up and packing up after the event. The reputation that the event has with the community will depend on ensuring that it leaves no lasting negative effects. Social media provides opportunities for conducting research on event satisfaction. This type of research does not provide quantifiable information as it is difficult to count retweets, shares and likes across more than one platform. However, social media marketing research can still be used to gain insight into visitor satisfaction with past events. Tourism events must assess both the number of visitors and the expenditure of these visitors. This expenditure is one of the main objectives of holding a tourism event.
