ABSTRACT

The purpose of this chapter is to discuss the research methodology, indicating the individual stages of the adopted research procedure. The adopted research method was the survey research method, with concurrent use of two research techniques, CATI and CAWI. This multi-mode approach assured higher quality and reliability of the obtained data. A standardized survey questionnaire was used as the research tool, and respondents included owners or representatives of top management. The sample was representative for the population of small-, medium-, and large-sized enterprises operating in Poland. The research model together with the operationalization of particular variables and their measures as well as the methods of statistical analysis with an emphasis on the essence of SEM is also discussed here. And although the adopted research procedure was not free from limitations, efforts were made to design it so as to reduce potential errors and biases as much as possible.
