ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we have examined the fourth and final of Yalom's existential givens: death. Perhaps living at the core of each of the givens, death represents the greatest challenge to our existence. It is unavoidable yet difficult to accept. We have also posited that sex (specifically the functioning of the penis) can be a powerful force in countering fears of mortality.
