ABSTRACT

Reading through Generation Z online magazines and internet platforms, it seems that a relationship with several partners, be it an open relationship or polyamory, is a valid alternative to the classic monogamous two-person model. Well-educated individuals in particular realise that they are headed for a dead end if they keep holding on to traditional gender roles. More and more young men are becoming aware of these new realities and are gradually beginning to expand the traditional features of male gender roles. Nonetheless, the school has still increased its efforts in recent years to help students to come to terms with their sexuality. Indeed, most young men and women yearn for the harmony and sense of belonging of a partnered relationship. Gen Zers express their love online, and the romantic overtures they employ to court their first loves are often not that different from those whispered by older generations over the phone: a kiss or heart emoji via text message.
