ABSTRACT
Local governments that report only basic descriptive statistics about their surveys—for example, the number of respondents, response rate, and average response—miss many of the rich insights available in the data. Those who dig further into cross-tabulations to examine variations in the responses and who then test for the statistical significance of these differences can begin to find those insights.
