ABSTRACT
The planet is one, and can nurture people only if people accept Earth's carrying-capacity conditions. As confirmation of the incontrovertible truth of the damage human progress has wrought, La Glace et le ciel/Ice and the Sky (2015) goes back in time to provide, through the work of the glaciologist Claude Lorius, the evidence that the Earth's natural cycles of glacial and inert-glacial eras have been disturbed by anthropogenic global warming. He further discovered, as he tells people,that during the nuclear explosion experiments a certain number of radioactive elements released into the atmosphere returned to the earth around the explosion; others went up into the upper atmosphere and circulated around our globe and these are the radioactive elements in particular people have found in the layers of snow at the polar regions.
