ABSTRACT

Training of workers is an important task of managers and supervisors. This chapter describes how to educate and train workers who are directly involved in manufacturing. There may be various answers and it is difficult to tell what is correct, but the following are basically necessary. Education and training period, order, subjects, etc. should be standardized in individual companies. In the long run, it is best to provide the appropriate education from the start, and it is too late to educate them after a serious trouble has occurred. It is necessary to systematically develop instructors or trainers who are familiar with the content to be taught. The best way to train is a two-step method: In the first step, new employees have “offline training” at a place different from the actual manufacturing line, and in the second step thereafter, they receive “online training” in the actual production lines while carrying out actual work.
