ABSTRACT
Although the number of defects detected in the finished vehicle inspection, as well as the number of defects from suppliers, drastically decreased, the people had a long way to go until they would reach the market claim reduction goal. The all-member meetings should be finished within 30 minutes, with priority given to important matters. It is important to return the claimed items or parts to the responsible designer or supplier as soon as possible for immediate start of considering and taking countermeasures. Problems will not be solved simply by relying on the supplier's efforts. Although some measures are still in progress, full-scale efforts to combat contamination have enabled drastic reduction of market claims as described below. When the dealers saw how seriously the information sent from them was handled at the plant to prevent defect reoccurrence, the trust relationship between the dealers and the plant was greatly improved.
