ABSTRACT

Depending on where a defect is found, the seriousness of the defect will change greatly. The quality assurance department confirmed the annual quality performance data of the base (reference) year on each indicator mentioned in “Dantotsu Quality Activities” and set targets for the entire company and each department for the subsequent three years. The quality assurance department checked the total number of Type C defects found externally (outside the company)” and informed by customers in 2006, as well as the results by responsible department. Based on the results, the quality assurance department set a 50-percent reduction target for each shop for the subsequent three years and presented it to each in-house department. “Supplier-related” means “the suppliers were responsible for the defects”. In order to deliver products with zero quality defects to customers in the market, we need activities that can assure quality throughout all processes of the supply chain from material suppliers (first process) to dealers (final process).
