ABSTRACT

Standardization is an important task for managers and supervisors. This chapter describes how to standardize the work and operations according to the classifications shown in Chart 4-1 by defining those indicated by 0 to 0 as "main work" and those indicated by "a" to "h" as "ancillary work". Components of special model vehicles to be made through special orders from customers are generally produced only once and in small volumes. Therefore, it is difficult to prepare the related work manual in advance. In the process of production, various abnormalities may occur. When production stops due to trouble, workers tend to pay more attention to resuming production through quick troubleshooting than quality considerations, increasing the risk of defect outflow. When consumables such as cutting blades, grinding wheels and welding tips are used beyond their limits, defects are more likely to occur.
