ABSTRACT

In this example the supervisee is struggling to engage with a new client. The client had been promoted to a management post following a restructure. She had no previous management experience and was receiving a lot of challenge and criticism from her team. The employers were aware that they had not followed current recruitment and appointment procedures as hoping to avoid any employment tribunals had commissioned a coach, with the hope that would improve the client’s management skills and offset any action from her team.

This example focuses on the work undertaken to increase the coach’s understanding of the client’s worldview and the supervisor introduces the possibility of working with the existential dimensions.
