Including spirituality means working towards more socially just, critically aware and inclusive way of practising. As explored in the previous chapter, social work has had a mixed history from this perspective, depending on timing and your particular social context. While this is gradually changing, there can still be reluctance to engage with spirituality in case this means condoning oppressive behaviour.
