ABSTRACT

This chapter describes the third test series relating to image-scanning sequences. It describes tests that investigate the adaptation of patterns created by the translation of image data into sequences of scan lines. The aim is to observe how various scan order patterns deployed as building surface templates affect the legibility of a captured scene. The chapter demonstrates that the combined effect of applied scan order pattern type and orientation contributes to a high degree of image disruption. It concludes that the application of selected patterns provides the means to interrupt image legibility, thus drawing the viewer's attention to existing promotional strategies associated with site ownership currently at play within the city.
