ABSTRACT

Death is an integral part of life. From times immemorial, nature has used dying and death as an essential constituent of its different compositions. Dying essentially involves a transformation of the perception of individuals. All egoism and ego-centred-perception along with ego-based needs now appear to fade into the background. Dying persons necessarily need to go through primordial fear, it being a threshold-specific emotion, being an essential aspect of the transition. Some individuals are observed engaging in a spiritual struggle with their own selves, where they engage in a means of mediation between heaven and earth. Dying involves a transition into an all-encompassing acceptance, where the individual embraces all negations and affirmations. The narcissistic conflict of the dying person between the weak and ailing body and the wished-for, ideal state needs to be solved for the person to mourn the weakening, dying body.
