ABSTRACT

This chapter concludes the book by revisiting the three research questions in light of the data presented herein and suggesting their implications for Italian secondary schooling. This chapter consolidates the main take-away points from the book, poses questions about the ways that schools contribute to social reproduction, and suggests how social reproduction might be resisted by future educators and students. The chapter concludes with a brief discussion of the student participants’ post-diploma trajectories at the time of writing, as well as implications and future directions for the topics presented in this book, and the potential benefits of abolishing the tripartite secondary school system in Italy.
