ABSTRACT
Although the bee are at the heart of this new way to innovate, they can’t do it alone. Not only do the bees need access to the meadow of experts but the innovation system needs other very distinct roles to function. In order to successfully commercialise a novel idea, we need an innovation team just as much as the traditional approach needs an innovation team.
Each team member must understand their specific remit, including their objectives and how they contribute to the whole process. And they must work well together. Not every role will be involved in every innovation. Some will be more involved than others and some may only act in an advisory capacity.
In addition to the impeller specific roles of bees, meadows of experts and entrepreneurs, the innovation team also needs to work with the more familiar roles. Namely:
