ABSTRACT
As already indicated, the main portion of this tribe lives in the Mafeking district of the Union of South Africa, but some of its members occupy the region in the Bechuanaland Protectorate known as the “Barolong Farms”. The whole tribe is divided into 84 wards. 1 In the following list, I give the names, first of the wards themselves, and then of their headmen (in 1943), classified according to ethnic origin; 2 I have no information about the number of people attached to each.
