ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book suggests contemplation both about the theory and praxis of Post-traditional Public Administration (P.A.) and government (“praxis” being practice as distinguished from theory), and about the nature and context of the reader’s own reflection and praxis related to P.A. and government. Both analysis (of P.A. and Govt.) and self-analysis (by the reader) can be helpful, even in an occupation that can be misunderstood as limited to the mechanical and the traditional. The middle- and lower- income classes are being exfiltrated as a result of free market theory and corporate and big money involvement in government – and by government involvement with big business. The reader should continue contemplation on the nature and context of Post-traditional P.A. approaches, and on the relevance of the reader’s own thinking and the context of that thinking.
