ABSTRACT
Public administration (PA) thinking, PA practice, and PA education need a 12-step program, parallel to Alcoholics Anonymous. Individuals and organizations should turn to Uncreative Anonymous, often known as Unimaginatives Anonymous. Barring brain injury or malformation, a human non-emotional moment is a fiction. It’s hard to acknowledge that PA is powerless over uncreativity, say, in dealing with myths and in listening to the discourses of others. Perhaps uncreativity in overcoming myths is to be expected in a discipline which harbors the myth that PA started with a local hero, Woodrow Wilson. Traditional PA prides itself on being porous, that is, having boundaries that admit extra-disciplinary ideas. “The mirror neuron system, among other functions, is pivotal to the representation of sequential information, and to imitation”.
